Happy Birthday Mom!

This is a tribute to honor our amazing Mom. She is busy with 8 kids, 2 son in-laws, and 4 grandbabies (plus 5 of the 8 kids are teenage boys!). She makes time for each of us and has a great perspective on life that helps each of us find the laughter in the hard times. She loves the gospel, and has an incredible testimony. She has a great sense of humor and laughs at herself as well as the rest of us! Plus, she is still a major hottie, Mom- we love you!

Camp GI Joe!

Happy Holidays!
This was our family picture for our Christmas cards this year, but we didn't quite get them sent out. Christian has been photo-shopped in to be a part of the picture, but my Mom didn't dare send them this way. Here is a little cheer anyway.

We had the great honor of holding another King Family Camp GI Joe! It has been probably 10 years since the last one (at least). When Brittani and Brooke were younger they would throw something called "Camp GI Joe" each summer for their younger brothers. It would consist of camping in the backyard, waterfights, target practice with Super Soakers, etc...The last day they would get Todd (Dad) to dress up as Cobra (the bad guy) kidnap Brooke, and wage a final battle. It was a fun tradition for years. Then everyone got older, busy and grew-up. But on Dec. 28th, Brittani brought back Camp GI Joe with a more mature twist.
This was our grown-up "Put on the Armor of God" Camp GI Joe. It consisted of a delicious dinner (made by Mom) and a trip to Dad's office for some guest speakers. Our speakers were Cathy Jenkins, and Doug Perry. They were AWESOME! Doug Perry spoke about avoiding temptations, and having the light of Christ in our countenances. Cathy spoke about the literal meaning of the armor of God, what is designed to protect, and how we can strengthen our armor "chink by chink". It was incredible. The speakers were awesome. Brittani brought us all camo gear to wear, and gave us dog-tags inscribed with "Put on the Armor of God" and our name.

Afterwards we had Rootbeer floats and played with our new Nintendo Wii. What a blast! Everyone had a great time. We decided that our "grown-up" Camp GI Joe would again become a yearly tradition.

Christmas was amazing, we had a family picture taken for Christmas cards, but we never got them out. The picture is above, and know that we love you all! Happy Holidays. Hope you have an amazing 2008!
